Correct maintenance methods for artificial turf
Nov 20, 2023
1, Cooling down
In the scorching summer weather, the surface temperature of artificial turf is relatively high. It does not absorb heat like natural grass to achieve cooling effect. After all, artificial turf is made of PE polyethylene material. On the contrary, after high temperature exposure, artificial turf will add heat effect. Playing football in such a high temperature environment can easily cause physical discomfort to athletes and reduce the quality and fun of competition. So lowering the surface temperature of artificial turf is an important process for summer protection, and now it is generally done by watering the site to lower the temperature, which is currently quite useful. Before professional league competitions, the surface temperature is lowered by watering the venue. But the spraying must be uniform and not excessive, and it can be sprayed on the site to be moist.
2, Cleaning
Football venues inevitably generate various types of waste, whether it is artificial turf or natural turf, which needs to be cleaned. If it is only floating dust, then natural rainwater can clean it. But there are also many plastic waste, paper scraps, fruit peels and other waste that need to be sorted and cleaned. Therefore, it is necessary to include regular cleaning in the protection of football venues.
3, Drainage
Summer is also a dry season. Generally, the dry season will gather between April and October. Especially in South China, the dry season is particularly fierce, and there are many rainstorm climates. This has a great impact on the drainage system of the artificial turf. Generally, moderate and light rain has no obvious impact on the artificial turf. Actually, the artificial turf was built with a drainage system, and there are drainage holes on the back of the turf, Generally, moderate to light rain does not have an impact on artificial lawns, and it can basically clear the accumulated water in the site within half an hour. However, heavy rainstorm climate often occurs in summer, so the drainage of small holes in the lawn is not so fast when the rainfall is too large, which will result in the lawn being engulfed by flood, rubber particles and quartz sand being washed away, causing serious damage to the lawn. So, protecting and draining artificial lawns in summer is essential.
